Situated in South Auckland, Manurewa is recognised as one of the most multicultural suburbs in New Zealand with this high school playing an important role in the area's rich history laying the foundation for over 2100 students from a ‘beautiful mix of more than 50 nationalities’.

The Solution

Manurewa High School boasts many vocational programmes for the students some of which include Hospitality and Catering. In 2021 the Board of Trustees introduced a lunch programme where Year 12 and Year 13 students are trained while preparing healthy and nutritious meals for their fellow high school students. Reward Hospitality was instrumental in upgrading the school’s commercial kitchen with adequate equipment and accessories to learn while working in a professional commercial environment.

Manurewa High School has a commercial kitchen for training and catering. 

This fully equipped kitchen boasts two Rational Combi Ovens, two iVario Cooking Centres, blast chillers, Cambro hot boxes, and all the necessary utensils required to produce up to two thousand meals per day. Whether it's baking, cooking, chilling or hot holding, this kitchen has got it covered!

A Long History Working Together

Reward Hospitality began working with Manurewa High School in 2014, back when we were known as Burns & Ferrall. At that time, we provided advice to the school regarding their kitchen facility and equipment. Over the years, our relationship with the institution has grown, and we have been able to offer our expertise in high-volume commercial catering as needed.
